You know, I was thinking. U2 could probably play an entire live show without playing anything from Boy to Achtung Baby and the show probably would'nt be that bad.. They could open with some rocking songs, go into an acoustic set, then come back with a more mellow set and then come back with a 2 song encore.

1, elevation
2, electrical storm
3, beautiful day
4, new york
5, hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me

(acoustic set)
6, the ground beneath her feet
7, stay! faraway, so close
8, hands that built america
9, wake up dead man

10, in a little while
11, staring at the sun
12, please
13, dirty day
14, walk on
15, kite
16, wild honey

encore

17, stuck in a moment you can't get out of
18, the first time

I dunno. Maybe someone else could come up with a better set list ignoring everything from Boy to Achtung Baby.. Maybe play some forgotten Zooropa songs, maybe play some more rarities off Passengers or the Million Dollar Hotel Soundtrack.

Yes, interesting, but you have to include Gone!!!

I would really like to hear Mofo live again, also! More from Pop!!!

They could, but if I had it on a bootleg, I'd never listen to it because it'd be too disgusting. Pre-JT is what it's all about.

It would be an enjoyable concert, defirintely, but not really....plausible. So many of their hits come from the 80's and AB. In fact, I think if they had a show of just old-school songs, it would get more of a response than a 90's-only concert.

I disagree. It's not Pre-JT ...but THE JT era is what it's all about.

Cheers,

Alright, we all know I'm a fan of pre-JT and think that's the best work U2 ever did (definitely the best live shows), but I'm also a setlist nut so here's a setlist containing nothing pre-Zooropa. OK, so it doesn't follow the convention set in the original post, but I simply don't like it, especially the inclusion of the acoustic set, which I think is a waste of time. So here's my setlist.

1. Electrical Storm
2. Elevation
3. Mofo
4. Last Night On Earth
5. Gone
6. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
7. New York
8. Beautiful Day
9. The Ground Beneath Her Feet
10. Stay (Faraway, So Close!)
11. The Sweetest Thing
12. The Hands That Built America
13. Please
14. Wake Up Dead Man
15. Zooropa
16. Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car
17. The Wanderer

Encore
18. Discotheque
19. If God Will Send His Angels
20. Kite
21. Walk On (and personally, I think this needs a 40 snippet)
