As Utoo said, the fact that the POP album is inspired by POP art (which I am fully aware of, btw.) doesn't mean that the album cover cannot be inspired by the Let It Be cover. The similarities are striking.

Nah, they didn't run out of ideas, they embraced Pop Art for their album. Coincidental on the Beatles part, directly on the Pop art style. The Beatles cover is photos of the band, the Pop cover is more Lichtenstein+Warhol inspired.

I quite enjoyed learning about the Pop Art movement in my art classes in college.
