Actually, it occurred to me that maybe Bono was familiar with "the gospel of Judas" - it's not a newly "discovered" document - it was found in the 1970's, but has been written about since the 2nd century.

UTEOTW sounds like an 'insider' conversation between Jesus and Judas, as the so-called gospel claims took place.

Actually, Bono said once in an interview that UTEOTW was definitely influenced by The Little Book of Judas by Brendan Kennelly.

Sorry, can't point you to the interview as I'm at work, but that was the first thing I thought of when this news report was distributed this week.
