I don't know, but of course it's great. I like how it fades in. I also like the "oh oh oh "s thing. and edge w/ his prince guitar lick on the "so in go through to my heart" part.

the song just doesn't have a memorable melody.

I love this song, and I think if it had been a single it would have done well. I hope it returns to the setlist someday, but I know that is a long shot. I'd take that or Wire, another lost UF song. I'm glad Bad at least returned.

Such a beautiful song...I think it's a gem that is forgotten about at times....

In the ocean
Cut, swim, deep the sky
Like there, I don't know why
In the forest, there's a clearing
I run there towards the light
Sky...
It's a blue sky

In the earth a hole dig deep, decide
If I could, I would
Up for air to swim against the tide
Hey, hey, hey
Up toward the sky
It's a blue sky

To lose along the way
The spark that set the flame
To flicker and to fade
On this the longest day

So wind blow through to my heart
So wind blow through my soul
So wind blow through to my heart
So wind blow through my soul
So wind blow through to my heart...

You give yourself to this the longest day
You give yourself, you give it all away

Two rivers run too deep
The seasons change and so do I
The light that strikes the tallest trees
Will light a way for I
Will light a way
Up toward the sky
It's a blue sky

To lose along the way
The spark that set the flame
To flicker and to fade
On this the longest day

So wind go through to my heart
So wind blow through my soul
So wind go through to my heart
So wind blow through my soul
So wind go through to my heart
So wind blow through my soul
So wind go through to my heart...

You give yourself to this the longest day
You give yourself, you give it all away

Isn?t it amazing that we always have another great U2 song like that to remember and comment? ;)

Indian Summer Sky...another great song from UF era...such a trademark atmosphere in songs like that one. I love the drums and bass especially. The lyrics ain?t that bad either. ;)

I love Indian Summer Sky. It has such an intresting melody, it's very haunting.

It is also very cool live, I have it from a concert in France..'84. They also played Wire!

yeah, I've got that one too. It's a rare treat to hear this song live.

Personally I'm quite fond of the guitar licks...the way Edge sounds like he's scraping his guitar with the pick at certain points. Oh and Adam's bassline.

This song was actually only played 7 times live and has not been played since the Unforgettable Fire tour. Great song! I have the live version from the Milan 85' show!

I will always post when there is anything to do with the UF.- how much do I love this album!! Indian Summer Sky like so many of the songs has that atmospheric, etherial dreamy feel. Lyrics and music just wonderful - thanks for the post
Wire - just an absolute knockout - one of my all time favs

UF is probably my fave U2 album. its the one im listening to at the moment, and whenever im feeling too stressed out, i know its time to play van's astral weeks and UF. i love the balance between short songs and long songs, instrumentals and dreamy lyrics...its just wonderful.
