I won't listen to any shitty beach clips or Walmart special audio appetizers....but you damn well better believe that I'll rip a copy of a full audio version of the album if it leaks.

Hells yeah!

I've waited too long for this shit!!!! :hyper:

I had a dream that my local accidently had it on the shelves. I stole it, and a beatles album (why I had to steal it I dont know!)

I took the beatles album back so there was no suspiscion that I took the U2 one, and came home and leaked the fuck out of it!!!
I had a dream last night that I had sex with Natalie Portman and Elisabeth Shue on a spaceship somewhere off the belt of Orion. How our minds differ.

Yeah, the album is definitely "out there". But is it in enough hands to make a leak likely this weekend? Anyone who leaks it will probably have to feel secure enough to do so (based on likelihood of anonymity), but if there are more than a few dozen copies hanging around, it seems likely that it will leak in the next day or two.

so just to confirm, the torrent was titled "U2 Master" but was taken down immediately?

if that's the case, it sounds like someone is trying to leak it. but if they wanted to leak it so bad, wouldn't they just upload it on a blog or general torrent site?

Yeah--or it could be Universal f-ing with us.

more likely... studios pay people to put up fake torrents (and sometimes with viruses) to discourage people from illegal downloads... and then theres pay torrent sites which are almost assuredly a scam, you'd have more luck giving your money to a nigerian prince than paying for a torrent

interesting...isn't it illegal to knowingly spread viruses?

*thinks of a way he could win big money from suing Universal

im guna call bullshit on that. Well, at least the viruses bit... theres no way in hell that is legal. And just 'paying' someone to do it is so traceable. Delibrately and willingl uploading a virus to delibrately infect other computers isnt something I see universal doing

haha! I hope record companies aren't trying to give people viruses--that would be much worse than actually stealing music (and also illegal) :|

The first one said "HOT...U2MASTER" but it was taken down.
Now I just get This......
But I don't trust these sites. I think it's just the site trying to get people to sign up.

Interesting. How would they know to call it "U2 master"? Perhaps because so many people are typing that in as a search?

“Saw” Director Recruits ‘Army’ to Post Fake Torrents | TorrentFreak

Maybe I'm wrong on the virus part-- it may not apply to music because opening an mp3 won't get you a virus, but in terms of software, there are a lot of smaller software companies which do this, like Nero.

It would be illegal to knowingly upload a virus into the public domain. It may be done with fakes, but not with viruses. Those companies have massive legal departments, and they would not be the stupid

I'd have thought U2 Master is the last thing people would be searching for, so maybe they're being deliberately obtuse to try and catch "hardcore" U2 fans out in a double bluff? Surely "U2 - No Line On The Horizon" would be the popular search?

I won't get into an argument about this because this isn't the right forum.

Suffice to say, the moral of the story is don't actively look for a leak on random sites, as soon as the album leaks it will inevitably posted here by someone in the know.

interesting conspiracy theory. Who knows? could be true.

That would explain the '80s shoulder pads and silver armbands.

or be that smart to know how to do it. I bet they still send fax messages to each other and work on Tandy 1000's

Those "u2 master" files are not real. They're just names generated by what you search for. You can search for "bullfrog orchestra - best croaks 2009" and it'll spit out "[HQ] Hot! bullfrog orchestra.rar 2/13/09"

this is true. while it's part of the fun to be looking under every rug for a leak, the fact is, when it actually happens, it'll be under all of our noses rather quickly.

I don't trust any of those torrent sites. I'm just hoping when it leaks itunes will just put it up so I can safely download it. I will have to wait for the CD.

Judging by how fast news reaches Interference vs. U2.com, I'd say we're better organized and more tech-savvy...so I think we're good. :D
