What one song would you play for them off of each album??

Here's my picks as of today; it's always subject to change :D

Boy- Out of control
October- Gloria
War- Two Hearts
Under A Blood Red Sky- I will Follow
Unforgettable Fire- Bad/ Indian Summer Sky; (I can't do just one from this album)
Wide Awake- Love Comes Tumbling
JoshuaTree- Streets; Running To Stand Still
Rattle and Hum- Pride
Achtung Baby- Acrobat
Zooropa- Zooropa
Pop- Gone
ATYCLB- Beautiful Day/ In a Little While/ When I look at The World (I need more than 1)
HTDAAB- Vertigo/Miracle Drug/ COBL (Again more than 1 for me)

Someone who hasn't listened to even one U2 song? I don't think such a person exists in this world.

Anyway, here goes...

Boy - I Will Follow
October - Gloria
War - Sunday Bloody Sunday
UF - Pride
JT - Streets/WOWY
RH - Desire/AIWIY
AB - One/EBTTRT
Zooropa - Numb/Stay
Pop - Staring
ATYCLB - Beautiful Day
HTDAAB - Miracle Drug

Pretty standard stuff for the most part... cos these are easier to take in compared to say Acrobat or Mofo. Of course, these are nowhere near my favorites from these albums.

Far out. If I met someone who had never heard a U2 song, I'd show them a few other things first, like the microwave oven, the internet etc etc. Clearly they've been stranded on a desert island for the past 25 years or so....

Joshua Tree twice, ATYCLB twice, POP twice, no October at all?

One from each album, dude, that was sort of the whole idea, right?

Makes it a lot harder to choose, and it would have drastically effected my list for sure.

IMO ... all it would take is to hear "New Year's Day" from War ...
but actually a list from each album ... then here's my overall
choices ...

Another Time, Another Place / Stories For Boys ... (Boy)
Rejoice / Gloria / Tomorrow ... (October)
New Year's Day / Drowning Man / Surrender ... (War)
11 O'Clock Tick Tock ... (Under A Blood Red Sky)
The Unforgettable Fire / A Sort Of Homecoming / Pride ... (TUF)
The Three Sunrises / Bad (Live) ... (Wide Awake In America)
With Or Without You / Streets ... (The Joshua Tree)
Hawkmoon 269 / Heartland ... (Rattle-n-Hum)
Acrobat / Until The End Of The World ... (Achtung Baby)
Lemon / Stay (Faraway So Close) ... (Zooropa)
Your Blue Room / Slug ... (Passengers)
Mofo / Gone / Please / Do You Feel Loved ... (Pop)
Walk On / New York ... (All That You Can't Leave Behind)
A Man And A Woman / Sometimes ... (How To Dismantle ... Bomb)

Miscellaneous Songs ::

Wild Irish Rose
Walk To The Water

Thought I`ll share this with you.
I met an old friend last month, and I told her that Im going to a U2 concert this summer if I get the tickets.
She asked :” U2? Is it a Swedish band?”
Me: „ NO! It`s an Irish band? Haven`t you ever heard of them???? (You cant imagine the look on my face)
She: „Oh, do they play folk music?
Me: NO!!! They are a rock band. Their song Vertigo is played everywhere. You really dont know?
She: Hmm? Vertigo??......Vertigo?? I think Ive heard it somewhere.....

Well at least she had heard it :D :D

U2 Swedish and a Folk band that is class, give the Edge a Thin Wishle, Larry a Bohran, and Adam some a fiddle, I wonder. Farmhouse with a light, In the name of cows, Plough On, that would be cool. Covers of Raglan Road
