Which would it be? Also, just to be legalistic here, I'm going to say that having these songs on these albums would delete their status of b-side on a single. Here are mine:

Boy: "Another Day"
October: "11 O'Clock Tick Tock"
War: "Treasure"
The Unforgettable Fire: "Love Comes Tumbling"
The Joshua Tree: "Spanish Eyes" or "Walk To The Water" (I can't decide)
Rattle & Hum: "She's A Mystery To Me"
Achtung Baby: "Lady With The Spinning Head"
Zooropa: "She's Gonna Blow Your House Down"
Pop: "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me"
All That You Can't Leave Behind: "The Ground Beneath Her Feet" (even though some people got that, I didn't)
How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb: "Smile"

Boy: 11 O'clock Tick Tock (the fact it's not between The Electric Co. and SATT is a crime)
October: A Celebration (well, it wasn't yet recorded, but it's from the general era and there isn't exactly much else!)
War: Treasure
UF: The Three Sunrises or Bass Trap
JT: Spanish Eyes
RAH: She's A Mystery To Me
Achtung: Wild Irish Rose
Zooropa: In Cold Blood
Pop: North And South Of The River
ATYCLB: Summer Rain (as my edition has TGBHF and I think of it as part of the album; I didn't even know it wasn't an album track until 2003)
HTDAAB: Smile

Boy - 11 o clock tick tock
UF - Bass Trap
JT - Spanish Eyes or Luminous Times (Hold On To Love)
RH - Hallelujuah Here She Comes and A Room At The Heartbreak Hotel
Achtung - Lady With The Spinning Head
HTDAAB - Smile

Boy - Things To Make And Do
October - A Celebration
War - Endless Deep
UF - Three Sunrises
JT - Luminous Times
R&H - Heartbreak Hotel
AB - Salome
Zooropa - Slow Dancing
PoP - Holy Joe
ATYCLB - Summer Rain
HTDAAB - Are Ye Gonna Wait Forever

Boy: Another Day
October: J Swallow
War: Treasure
The Unforgettable Fire: Love Comes Tumbling
The Joshua Tree: Luminous Times
Rattle & Hum: She's A Mystery To Me
Achtung Baby: Lady With The Spinning Head
Zooropa: Slow Dancing
Pop: Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me
All That You Can't Leave Behind: Levitate
How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb: Mercy

Boy: 11 O clock tick tock
UF: Love comes tumbling, Three sunrises (instead of that instrumental and Elvis song)
JT : Heartland (and put Trip... on Rattle and Hum)
Rattle and Hum : She's a mystery to me
Zooropa: Hold me thrill me kiss me kill me
ATYCLB: Levitate

Boy: 11OTT
War: Treasure
UF: Bass Trap, for sure
JT: Luminous Times, also for sure
R&H: She's A Mystery To Me
Achtung: Salome
Zooropa: HMTMKMKM
Pop: Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad / North and South of the River
ATYCLB: Levitate / Always
HTDAAB: Smile

I'm surprised at all of the people suggesting Levitate for ATYCLB. Personally, that song is ruined by the lyric "freedom has a scent/It's like the top of a newborn baby's head/Maybe we can taste it". Maybe we can taste it?!

That one lyric doesn't ruin the entire song, its a great song and just sad that the world didn't get to hear it.

I'm sure he meant the freedom, not the baby head.

:giggle:

I love Levitate. It's my favourite one of these outtakes.

But most of all I love Smile. That's what I would add to the Bomb.

Achtung: Wild Irish Rose

I'm listening to this song again. Had it been fully produced, it could've really been a good song. As it is, the production of it gets to me (then again, so does most of the 90s stuff). Here's to hoping it's on the someday-in-the-distant-future ReMaster of Achtung Baby.

levitate is really nice. I'm a big fan of are you gonna wait forever. I'm not going to try to add things to each album, that's all. Smile fans, 2008 will be a great year for the U2Band.

I'm curious why you want this song on there, Ax. It's so contrary to the tone and mood of the rest of the album, I just don't see it fitting.

I'd already put She's A Mystery To Me on RAH.

As the album is ordered now, you're right that Wild Irish Rose doesn't exactly fit. However, on my own re-ordered Achtung Baby, I think it does fit, and very well at that. But I think messing with Achtung the way I have would be sacrilege to over half of Interference's membership!

As long as it's without One, you have my stamp of approval. Though on my copy, I'd add in Ultraviolet.

I'm surprised at the people saying Smile belongs on Bomb.

I want Levitate on ATYCLB for two reasons: a) it would be a great closing song for the album and b) it would get more emphasis on the joy/pop album they were trying to do.

Soulja Boy Tell 'Em's album would improve with Mercy, so there's that.

Yes, but that album would also be improved if I recorded myself throwing tennis balls and Coke cans and Paul McGuinness down a flight of stairs for four minutes.
