If u2 WERENT u2.....

If the Fab Four MkII never met but went on to be involved in seperate bands in their current specialist areas, which, if any do u think may have been sucsessfull.
Or do you think that its a complete one off and they could only work as u2?

Great question...Would Adam and Bono made it in the music business w/o Edge and Larry? I think that U2 as a cohesive group is all powerful and that solo each is fairly anonymous without the rest. Bono is obviously in another dimension these days, but it wasn't that way when they started.

Tough question to answer.

With U2, I think the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. I'm sure the lads have said something similar too

Only The Edge would have a chance I'd say. Adam didn't even know how to play bass, he just knew the word "gig."

I think Bono would've ended up a successful front man for a band no matter what. He brings the lyrics and the vocals to the table. Maybe he wouldn't have found a guitarist as great as The Edge to work with, but I think he would have done just fine for himself.

Sorry this is off-topic, but nice avatar. Did you watch the game last night? I was scared Utley's streak was going to get taken away from him.

It's a good avatar for me because:

- I'm a Philly Fan, hence the name.
- Utley's my favorite player - love the hustle.
- I look like him when my hair is his length.

And of course I watched the game. It was a close one. I've done baseball scorekeeping as a job for a long time now, and it was definitely a hit. The scorekeeper cited the correct rule.

Edge and Bono would be a success.

Adam is a good bass player but in the beginning he had a lot of struggles. I've always felt if i had to pick a weak link to the band, it was larry.

If Edge hadn't joined U2:
We would have landed on Mars already,
Learned Edge's time travel secrets,
and Interference would a site devoted to COLDPLAY!!!

What would Bono do if the word kneel didn't exist?

I thought the Edge was an alien octopus genius inside a delicious candy-coated shell?

Well he was, but the shell was a bit too shiny for Bono to handle...and well, now he's no longer candy-coated.
