(of course, the best choice would be the band itself, but it's not a documentary)

Bono: David Duchovny (he's got the charisma)

Edge: hmmmm...i have no idea who could play him. Obviously "anyone with a goatee" isn't a criteria.

How about they just play themselves?

Bono would need to do the most tweaking, with make up and losing a pound or two...(okay, okay...30 pounds!)

Edge would need some hair and a shave.

Adam would need to mess with his hair and glasses a bit...

Larry would not need to do anything since he never aged a day. He would be yawning while the others received the full make-up treatment.

No one could play these guys in a movie. No freakin way. That would be like someone trying to play Michael Jordan in a movie or this Will Smith "Ali" movie. C'mon...some people just cannot be imitated. I am sure Will Smith did a great job, but we all know the real Ali was an original that could not be copied without you thinking, "I wish I could still see the real deal".

There is only one Bono and only he knows his old moves, mannerisms, subtleties at a level that we would want to re-live those moments.

Not from any movies in particular, but i guess he proved in mrs doubtfire that dressing up as macphisto would pose no problems

I actually thought about this while watching the Def Leppard movie a few monts ago...and again while seeing an ad for the Hammer movie on VH-1.
Can you imagine the band agreeing to such a thing....
Can you imagine if they did...Bono on the set every day poking his nose into everything...
Part of me would like to see such a thing..to see the early days re-created and so forth...part of me thinks..nah...that's too way out...even for U2!!
