I think it simply died. Didn't you just love their never-updated weekly opinion column which ran for exactly three columns? Not to mention their never-updated news & features archive (most recent material circa-Popmart). Another site in the same boat (though it may still exist) was www.u2one.com .

But zoonation has sentimental value: it was the first u2 fan site I stumbled across.

that was the very first U2 site i discovered i believe, great site.
had interesting collaborations with radiohead sites and i believe bjork and rem but i might be wrong.
right after discovering zoonation i got on wire and really discovered the U2 community.
don't know what happened though.

yeah. I remember back like 4 years ago they updated their news site everyday.

Before Prarit went all commercial, those were the 2 sites where I always got my news.

simply put... the 'owner' lost interest.
Sad but true, and your probably thinking "how can that be?" - but it IS possible to get U2 burn-out.
Maybe one day he will be back - with a renewed vision.
