what did you think of it?
for those of you who didn't, check it out!
it is different to AB's version, most notably:

the beginning:
-first, Edge is heard, saying "okay", then guitar, bass and Larry kicks it off with drumsticks (like in One)
- the solo (different)
- the ending (no "na na na na", just the band)
- the riff is less obvious, other Edge's guitar work is more notable. overally, more natural sound, perhaps even more anxiety is achieved with the sound.

personally, i like both versions. at the moment, i prefer this one.

Wow...been so long since I've listened to it that I don't remember!

*grabs soundtrack to listen*

*will report back*

I like them both, but I feel that I prefer AB's. That might just be because I'm used to it more though.

Did you know that Elvis just changed the topic of the MDH forum to include U2 movie-related things like soundtracks and such?

No, I'm not bitchin' at you either for posting in the wrong place or whatever...don't think that! I just found out myself, and I thought I would share that.

And I love the soundtrack version of UTEOTW much better than the AB version. Just my opinion.

I prefer the soundtrack version of "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)" to the one on Zooropa. I think the Zooropa version is boring - the soundtrack version is alot more trippy.

HUH?!?!? The soundtrack versions are different?!?!? I never knew this! I wanna hear them! What soundtracks were they on?

well the one i'm talking about is to be found on the soundtrack to Wim Wenders' movie "Until the end of the world".
Stay version (haven't heard this one) comes from (i think) also a Wim Wenders movie-what was it called again-City of angels, was it?
i know that the US version of it (starring Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan) was titled City of angels.

Close!

Wim Wenders movie was also called "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)", wasn't it?

"City of Angels" had a different U2 song: "If God Will Send His Angels".

thank you so much...
LOVE the drums, and the guitar (a bit different than the Zooropa version), and the "do do do do" part at 4:00 of playing time.
WOO HOO!

The Wim Wenders movie is called, "Faraway, So Close!" That is the sequel to Wenders' 1987 movie, "Wings of Desire," which was the basis of the American remake, "City of Angels."

Hope that clears it all up!
