Well, it's April 4th...a sad day in history. I haven't seen a mention of MLK yet on this day, so I thought a thread was in order.
I think we should all take a moment to remember this man and how wonderful and strong he was. We should all aspire to have such tremendous qualities in ourselves.
A few quotes was posted by a friend of mine at the Ryan Adams board...hope she doesn't mind me swipin' it to share with you all.
"A time comes when silence is betrayal. That time is now."
"Our lives begin to end, the day we become silent about things that matter."
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
"Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time: the need for man to overcome oppression & violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Man must evolve for all human conflict a method, which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love."
Dr. Martin Luther King
Nobel Prize acceptance speech, Dec. 11, 1964
"Whenever legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience."

One man come in the name of love
One man come and go
One man come, he to justify
One man to overthrow
In the name of love
What more in the name of love?
In the name of love
What more in the name of love?
One man caught on a barbed wire fence
One man he resist
One man washed on an empty beach.
One man betrayed with a kiss
In the name of love
What more in the name of love?
In the name of love
What more in the name of love?
Early morning, April 4
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride
In the name of love
What more in the name of love?
In the name of love
What more in the name of love?
In the name of love
What more in the name of love?

Sleep
Sleep tonight
And may your dreams
Be realized
If the thunder cloud
Passes rain
So let it rain
Rain down on him
So let it be
So let it be
Sleep
Sleep tonight
And may your dreams
Be realized
If the thundercloud
Passes rain
So let it rain
Let it rain
Rain on him
