4 lovetown shows all at dublin? overkill?

Underkill. It should have all 47 Lovetown shows. Plus soundchecks. Plus rehearsals.

Geez.... that's a lot of shows. I think something more realistic would be

Red Rocks
Joshua Tree in Tempe
Love Town December 31st
Outside Broadcast Houston
ZooTV Sydney
Popmart Edmonton
Popmart Santiago

...that's still seven shows, which may be too many. But that would be a killer boxset.

I'd go with: a War show, a JT show, a Lovetown show, 2 ZooTV shows (a pre-Zooropa and a after-Zooropa, the last one could be the Sydney one), a Popmart show (the Mexico City one), the 2 edited Elevation shows, and the (probable) 2 Vertigo shows, and another disc with singular and important performances over their career

I have 15 of the Lovetown boots in my collection....I'd love to get the rest including soundchecks and rehearsals! That would be a dream come true! Nothing's overkill to me....I'm trying to add to my bootleg collection to make it as complete as possible! It's my own personal boxset, and it's Priceless!

I think the release date will be more like 30th February, not 1st February

Anyway, you've GOT to have an Aussie Lovetown show in there somewhere. And I'm sure we can surrender one of those Popmart shows for an October concert

Agreed. This Grateful Dead-esque desire to hear all of U2's live output is honestly a bit silly.

While 20 concerts is hardly all U2's live output, I'll stop being pedantic for a second and agree with you there.

Why would you want, say, 19 versions of Bullet? I think having one or two definitive performances of each song would be much better.

I’d agree with these being released. All seminal moments in U2 history. Would be cool to see these shows in their full glory with great sound.

Personally, I’d love to see the last of the Popmart Oakland show to be released.
It was more amazing than anything I’ve seen released about the Popmart tour to date.

It's probably more likely to see a DVD boxset of officially filmed material... so that would be...

- Red Rocks
- remastered Rattle and Hum?
- Lovetown 89 (we know it was taped; a snippet of "Streets" was aired on German TV)
- ZOOTV Live from Sydney
- PopMart from Mexico

The Elevation/Vertigo shows are available separately, so no real reason to repackage there.

Can't wait for the documentaries on the PopMart and ZOOTV shows that will surely be packaged. Awesome.

unfortunately, we'll only see these kinds of releases after the band is retired. but at least when they are done playing, we'll still have some cool releases to look forward to.
