I was just watching U2 performance videos on youtube and something that keeps dawning on me is that this band has these incredible musical/emotional moments within songs. Yes, the songs on the whole are great, but there are just some amazingly spin-shivering moments. For instance:
1. Wild Horses "Don't you look back...." sung live, especially around 92
2. UV, "I remember when we could sleep on stones," live 92-93...raw intense vocal emotion
3. MW, the edge solo is actually quiet beautiful live; it takes on this whole new life
4. Streets, intro

What other moments have just sent shivers down your bone?

If I listen to the album version of Bad on headphones, that first shimmery cymbal sound from left to right will give me shivers...

'September, streets capsizing (sp)....'
Any Please performance really

When the drums comes in during 'Love is Blindness', when Larry starts with the snaredrum.

'Call out your name...' 11 O'Clock TT Irving Plaza

Love is Blindness live solo
the ''where is there is only love, only loooooove'' part in Ground Beneath Her Feet
''if the sky can crack, there must be some way back'' par after the guitar riff in Electrical Storm

Everytime Bono does a Halle, Hallejuhlia it just tingles me spine and gives me goose bumps! No one does them like he does.
That's right. Since I was a little sick yesterday I watched some of my U2 DVD's, also Vertigo Chicago, which I love (despite of what most people seem to think of it here). Running to Stand Still is such a shiver song for me, the whole performance, and with the Hallelujahs in the end it is almost overwhelming.

(And I really like the closeups of Bono's, err, mouth). :reject:

Serioulsy, with U2 there are so many spin-shivering and moving moments, it's hard to list them, at least for me.

Sometimes You Cant Make It On Your Own

Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own (the whole song) but especially when Bono sings: ''Can you hear me when I sing, you are the reason I sing, you're the reason why the opera is in me....'' up until the end of the song!

Beautiful Day at Live 8, as Bono sings: ''It was a beautiful day, don't let it get away....'' and the birds fly out of their cages and Bono looks up at the sky!

All beaU2ful, spine - shivering moments!
