NUMB!!
originally, i copied zooropa, the joshua tree, and october from the local library because i figured that i needed some u2 albums because i'd read all sorts of articles in magazines where bands that i lieked were citing u2 as huge influences. i put the cd player in and set up a tape to copy it onto and plugged headphones in so i could leave the room without my sister shutting it off halfway through recording because i wasn't in the room...i kept coming back to check on the tape, which was longer than the cd, so i had to repeat tracks, and both times i checkec on it, "numb" was playing and it SCARED me...
but about a year after that my cd player broke (an everclear cd did it, i'm not sure what happened, but it just wouldn't play anything, and i couldn't figure out how to fix it), and i had to listen to tapes or vinyl (or the radio
) i picked zooropa AT RANDOM out of a pile of about 70 or cassettes...
stay (faraway so close!) is great too...so is the title track...
and daddy's gonna pay

and dirty day
