Stay - probably my favourite u2 lyrics of any song
Running To Stand Still
A Sort of Homecoming

among many many others..

The lyrics to So Cruel...

"We're cut adrift
But still floating
I'm only hanging on
To watch you go down
My love"

"Desperation is a tender trap
It gets you every time
You put your lips to her lips
To stop the lie"

"She wears my love like a see-through dress
Her lips say one thing
Her movements something else
Oh love...like a screaming flower
Love...dying every hour...love"

"Her heart is racing, you can't keep up
The night is bleeding like a cut
Between the horses of love and lust
We are trampled underfoot"

" You love this town - even if that doesn't ring true. You've been all over, and it's been all over you " - Bono

" Don't you know there ain't no Devil, that's just God when he's drunk " - Tom Waits

I am sure that this has been done before, but lets give it another go! What are your favorite U2 lyrics??

Mine are:

Running to Stand Still: "You've got to cry without weeping, talk without speaking, scream without raising your voice"

If God Will Send his Angels: "God has his phone off the hook babe, would he even pick up if he could"

Acrobat: "I'd break bread and wine if there was a church I could receive in"

Official Dog-Walker of the ScottPhisto Society

I don't mean to be arrogant, but ...I do feel that we are meant to be one of the great groups. - Bono, Rolling Stone, 1981

New York "In the stillness of the evening, when the sun has had its day....I heard your voice whispering 'Come Away'"

So Cruel "Her skin is pale like God's only dove...screams like an angel for your love"
"Oh love...like a screaming flower...love, dying every hour...love"
"Between the horses of love and lust we are trampled underfoot"

Red Hill Mining Town "Love slowly stripped away..Our love has seen its better day"

Walk On "Home is where the hurt is"

"Love is a verb..."

We crossed the line
who pushed who over
it doesn't matter to you
it matters to me
We're cut adrift
but still floating
I'm only hanging on
to watch you go down
my love...

I've been listening to Passengers a lot lately....Slug, Your Blue Room and Miss Sarajevo, all have awesome lyrics, the italian part of miss sarajevo has awesome lyrics, kinda makes wonder what a Bono-only version of Miss Sarajevo would've sounded like....

You say that the river
Finds the way to the sea
And like the river
You shall come to me
Beyond the borders
And the thirsty lands
You say that as a river
Like a river...
Love shall come
Love...
And I'm not able to pray anymore
And I cannot hope in love anymore
And I cannot wait for that love anymore

Yeah, Passengers. Good stuff.

Don't want to clothe the curve
Don't want to make you swerve
Don't want what I deserve
