I've told people thousands of times if you can think of a better way to write a song about a kid having electric shock therapy than writting about an Electric Company, I'd give them 100 bucks. I could never think of a more creative way to write it.

Interesting... not sure. I don't think Bono ever publically said it was about Day-vid but it's certainly a possibility.
