I don't see the legitimacy of this at all. They haven't even finished their album, let alone announce a tour and the seller only has 5 feedbacks :eyebrow:

it's a fundraiser... has nothing to do with the album being done or not.

It doesn't matter if it's a fundraiser or not, you can't guarantee tickets to a tour that isn't even booked.

Someone's going to get ripped off.

According to the auction:

*A St. Baldrick's event organizer, Simon Hewson, is the cousin of Bono, lead singer and principal lyricist of U2, and has provided this incredible auction package. Simon will personally escort the winner of the auction at the concert.

It could be legit.

The atU2 fansite checked into it and it seems legit. They did a write on what they checked out. Bono does have cousins you know.

st. baldrick's is a very legit organization that does great work to raise funds for cancer research... and the auction is also listed on their main page.

sounds legit to me... all they're promising is a hospitality pass w/ tickets, which is easily enough done through u2's tour VIP services.

I know it's a legit organization. And I didn't check the organization's website before I posted. But I have a hard time believing that anyone would set up such a package before dates were even announced. Anything could happen between now and then. This type of thing usually occurs when a tour is set, for many reasons, one being that it's extremely hard for a fundraiser to refund money.

But who know, after looking at it again, maybe it is legit.

St Baldrick's? St Baldrick's?!

Maybe they have a cunning plan to get tickets when the tour's announced.

Don't get it? Go watch Blackadder, you Philistine.

Paul McGuinness has offered these at auctions before now without and tour planned or announced.

Is it as cunning as a fox that's just been appointed as Professor of Cunning at Oxford University?

 That was my first thought too.

I used my Columbo like instincts and checked out the people who left feedback on this ebayer. Seems that the other 5 ebayers have purchased different charity items over the last two years and they seemed satisfied

I'm not sure, but I certainly hope it's more cunning than rewriting the entire dictionary in a single night.
