First of all, YAY to MTV Europe for showing it again on "10 greatest performances on EMAs". I remember when i watched it live back then-actually the first time i saw a U2 awards show performance.
I loved the way Bono was all over the place, and the way the band was really getting into the energy of the song. (Edge and Larry in particular)
My favorite parts:
- those two "Moooofoooo" cries right at the start
- the way Bono interacts with the camera at "mother, you left and made me someone" part
- Bono and Larry's energy. Also Edge right after the "mother part", when he jumps back and forth
- the way Bono sings "mother, mother sucking rock'n'" -and then yells- "ROLL" and pushes the camera away
- the ending, when Bono walks down the stairs
And now, for the question: what was Bono singing right at the end-the last lines, without Edge? What was that?
"move me... al matre " ?
Was it al madre - Spanish for "mother"?
------------------
"That's why i still love playing live in a rock'n'roll band. There's just this feeling of this thing could just about do anything..." - Edge
"Something inside said this could be everything in your life." - Bono
"U2 as a band does things no one else can do. I think that is a very powerful thing." - Larry
"Adam believed in the band before anyone did." - Bono
