I've read a lot of stuff about the new Cher album lately, and she had repeatedly said that her album, particularly the latest single, sounds like the "early U2." I've heard the new single, and I didn't think that at all. Not saying it was bad or anything, but it certainly didn't remind me of U2. Thoughts?

This is true! You know, somebody once asked me, "What's the difference between Sonny Bono and Bono?" and this girl actually pronounced Bono right. I was impressed by that, even though it was a really weird question!

I am glad you have begun posting your threads again; I was beginning to worry.

I was thinking I read something recently about some lyrical similarities, but I have not seen nor heard any of her new lyrics.

When my 10 year old cousin was visiting she noticed the wallpaper on my desktop that had "Bono" on it. She pronounced it right, I was impressed. (As I know she is not familiar with U2.)

well since i don't even think she writes her own stuff, i doubt this is true. i don't doubt that you heard this, i just doubt that she's telling the truth. she's seriously fucked in the head methinks.

The video for her new song was on this morning. Still don't hear even the remotest shades of early U2 in it. Nope.

Now I have that song in my head...grrr...

Well...they were walking on the streets of Las Vegas in ISHFWILF...and she is walking on the streets of New York...

Walking the streets in a big city must be a U2 thing I guess

She is a good actress, I don't care much for her music. Her movie called Mask was good. All I know is that her voice sounds real horse now. It wasn't that bad in the 70's.
