Can someone answer this for me concert ticket pricing question?

I am wondering who determines the price of tickets is it the artist or the venue or a combination of both?Thanks!

Well it depends on the venue and the popularity of the band in question. In U2's case this could be determined by the capacity of the arena/stadiums they are playing, tour personnel and production costs, and whichever promoter they signed with. I have to admit while U2's concert tickets have gone up in the past few years, they are not out of the ballpark. The last two times (Popmart and Elevation Tours) U2 has signed an exclusive contract with one promoter who, along with the band sets the ticket prices.
