Is Rattle and Hum even on the list right now?

i'd personally rather have a bonus disc full of the various takes of them recording the early version of twilightAxver said:Have to? There are enough unreleased songs from the Pre-Boy era that a re-issued Boy could easily fill a bonus disc with studio material before live stuff is even given a thought.

I'm happy with any proper remaster. I just want a concert DVD for each album, and I fear we won't get that, and that's a shame.Dorian Gray said:aww here we go with the complaining. for fuck sake these cds need remastering. thank god they're getting a release. REM have done it, Dylan's done it, the Stones, the Cure, Sonic Youth, etc. Why do people see everything as a money grab??
I consider myself a U2 fan, and I'm not sure I even care about these. Bono's vocals at this time were pretty bad; I'd be interested in War concert footage, though, and a to have "A Celebration" on CD.Canadiens1160 said:No one but the hardcore fan base and music fans with a post-punk fetish will give a toss about Boy, October, and War remaster releases
Well, in December, Paul McGuiness gave a radio interview saying that every U2 album would get this treatment in the next 2 years, so it will eventually be on the list -- maybe not this year, but eventually. Exciting, no?Reggie Thee Dog said:

They have no control over the pricing in Canada, even when you bitched about this the first dozen times many Canadians said they found it less then for what you paid, so you really need to quit using this as a bitching point. Plus Popmart had more bonus features, so I'm not sure what drugs you are on.Muldfeld said:
I think the problem of money-grubbing, for me, comes in when the band's releasing substandard product and charging a whole lot. The deluxe Zoo TV DVD was reasonably priced, but Popmart is substantially more expensive in Canada, and for less documentary footage.
Muldfeld said:
Both these releases could have had entire extra concerts as a second or third disc (we'd have paid extra for that); instead we get a few songs and U2 will cash in later.

Same thing with the Milan DVD, which was unnecessarily cut down. Who doesn't think the Vertigo 2nd disc was a joke? And so it goes.

Normally I'd be a bit put off by all this remaster stuff but because there is so little promotion it does feel like it is accepted that these releases are just for hardcore fans and I kinda like that...
The remaster I want more than anything is TUF... Don't care about bonus anything, just want that album remastered...
I'm getting really tired of your constantly rude attitude.BonoVoxSupastar said:

Why would ANYONE expect another full concert as a bonus to a concert film? That's absurd.
I paid 6 dollars more for the deluxe edition. 6 dollars for a 10 song DVD, oh noes I got ripped off.
Simply put, if they are jokes, don't buy them.
I get tired of completely false statements that you constantly try to pass off as facts.Muldfeld said:

See, this is completely false. First of all many told you in here where prices were much lower, secondly it's the market that set the price. You can't sell a 10 song DVD at a higher price just because you want to, it will sell for what the market sets, bonus material will add to that cost but it still is judged by market.Muldfeld said:
Most people have to go to chains like HMV. The deluxe Zoo TV sold for $26 when it came out. Popmart sold for $39. Amazon.ca sold it for that price and then raised it to $44; HMV now sells it for $53. They wouldn't have these kinds of prices if U2 and Universal weren't asking for a substantially higher profit margin.
Muldfeld said:
Also, Popmart doesn't contain more than Zoo TV; the 2nd discs of both leave much to be desired, but the easter egg on Zoo TV had a lot more than that weird music video for Popmart. The bottom line is that U2 chose to not release the full concert footage evidenced from the bonus discs and just tease us with a few songs from them.
Muldfeld said:
And I've read many fans comment on how they'd love another concert; not just remastered stuff being charged the same price or more than newly filmed stuff like Vertigo; it's not the same production costs, since U2 already reaped massive profits from pay-per-view in the '90s for Zoo TV and Popmart.
Muldfeld said:
Also, there were so many more useful bonuses that could have been included like actual lengthy interviews, like the K-Mart performance and interview, etc. Stuff that's not easy to get. That would have made these sets a lot more valuable; U2 did a lazy job.
Muldfeld said:
Finally, the U2 hits collection was undesirable to most fans who already have the albums and first 2 hits albums. They only encouragement was the DVD and U2 weren't willing to put the full concert for some mysterious reason, especially since the Vertigo performances were subpar for that tour.
I don't mind commercialism as long as it's real quality.

I've also seen the stupidly high prices.
