Bootlegs:
What the hell exactly IS a bootleg? If someone downloads stuff off of U2bloodredsky and makes a cd, is that a bootleg? Where do they come from? What's a soundboard? Why do some cost? Etc, etc, etc...

Hmmm....ask this in the Departing forum. there are alot of knowledgeable bootleggers there.

If you download it and then start trading or even selling it around then yeah its a bootleg.
Boots are basically any unofficial recording. Unfortuantely some of U2s best work is to be found in the boots. Thank God, the boys dont seem to mind so much!

People record the gigs and then make them inot boots and they are quickly traded around the community. The Slane recordings were on sale in Dublin 3 days after the gig.
You can buy them from shops and fairs, some individuals may sell them but it is illegal. Most people in the U2 community trade them. I'll give you this for that type deal.

Its the way to go because boots can be very expensive. Elevation cd boots in Dublin going for 30 pounds
