It seems our favorite front-man was clever enough to trademark his own
name, therefore preventing the band recently known as "Bono Must Die"
from legally using it.

They have agreed to quit going by the title and will now formally go
by the name:

oRPHANS [FKABMD]

The [FKABMD] apparently stands for "Formerly Known as BONO MUST DIE."

So there!

They should change it to "Boner Must Die" or "Bone-oh Must Die." Everyone would know who they meant.

I just did a search on IP Australia and the afore-mentioned singer who shall not be named has his name trade marked in three classes, including "clothing, footwear, headgear"

And someone else has gone and trade marked the same unmentionable name for "Canned and frozen seafood including sardines, squid, mackerel and anchovies"

He's not the only person in the world named Bono. How can he do that? The band can always pretend they weren't talking about him.

They aren't using a name as a "product".

There are others named Johnny Cash, but only one can put it on a t-shirt...

or the squid
