Bono's shades said:
Johnny Cash was more rock and roll than most people in rock and roll right now.

I like the idea of finally hearing Bono sing The Wanderer, but I have to wonder if a lot of the people tuning in will hear it and wonder, "what the hell is this?"

You're probably right. though I can hardly name any other Johnny cash songs either.

my guess is the wanderer

i saw a commercial for it yesterday and they showed really fast clips of the performances WITHOUT SOUND...

anyway,
U2 was on the Vertigo Stage in what appearred to be an empty arena
Bono was wearing a cowboy hat
Bono had a Guitar
All four members were on the main Target of the stage and in proper position.
Edge was singing backup.

if that doesn't say "the wanderer" i don't know what does... ha ha...

seriously though... from the looks of things it was filmed during a soundcheck or some other time when there was no crowd.

as far as "ring of fire" i think if anyone plays it, it will be Coldplay, as they played it when I went to see them recently and some of the Coldplay superfans said it was a tour regular.

either that or "Kingdom Come" which they wrote for Cash to sing on a future Rubin project, but he died before that could happen.

Probably the latter, but then again...

NOBODY CARES ABOUt COLDPLAY, RIGHT!!!

We Want THE WANDERER!!!
