Looks pretty good so I'll give you a "NICE". I'd be disappointed not to have the original mix of Numb on Disc 1 but I don't really know where to put it. Disc 2 makes a whole lot more sense than the actual one does though.

Definately agree with you whole heartedly there.
They should have only had one new song I feel though..
And I also feel Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses was a big enough hit and If God Will Send His Angels would have been a nice addition too

The B-Sides they released with it was terrible. :|
Yours rocks and most of my favourites are in there.
How they left out Holy Joe, Lady with spinning head and Always I can never understand

I thought about Wild Horses and IGWSHA, but I felt even tho I prefer to Wild Horses to EBTTRT, the latter is perhaps much more widely known. And with IGWSHA, I was torn between that and Please - which I still cant believe they left off, particularly with The First Time on there, cos it aint all that - but giving it the 'October Treatment' as Karls77 said I thought was a good idea.

The B-Sides is really what made me do this in the first place. How could they get it SO wrong after the great job they did with 1980-1990?!

You know that's freaky deaky dutch, because I was thinking that as I was typing my last reply.
LOL
I just think U2 were so stuck in ATYCLB mode that they were going for all the songs that could make them seem more like the 80's and 2000 U2, including the B-Sides, The First Time was part of this little illusion I spose, if that's what they want then that's what they want I spose. It still shits me though, specially when they play Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses this tour, U2 have gone Crazy, Crazy Crazy  :coocoo:  :applaud: :giggle: :hmm:

Leave The First Time, nobody knows this song! And Gone may be one of their bests too but it was known too

For the b-sides... Put those crappy remixes on the Recycle bin and join holy Joe, Salome, WDIAGR, Alex descends... that are the best...!!

90's U2 is the U2 for me

BUT YOU DONT HAVE MISS SARAJEVO ON THERE!!!!

I hate the real 90's Best Of. What a waste of space. ATYCLB stuff? Save it for the next one. ES and THTBA? If they belong anywhere it sure as hell isn't on a 90's Best Of. Pop remixes? Try the songs that were actually on the album, or at least the single versions. Same goes for Numb. No The Fly? What the fuck. B-sides? Yay for remixes, I really did want that 10 minute generic techno remix of Discotheque, especially over a real song like Holy Joe.

OK, here is mine.

01 - Even Better Than the Real Thing
02 - Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
03 - Lemon
04 - Staring At the Sun
05 - Until the End of the World
06 - Numb
07 - Mysterious Ways
08 - Discotheque
09 - Gone (New)
10 - Miss Sarajevo
11 - Stay (Faraway, So Close)
12 - The Fly
13 - If God Will Send His Angels (Single)
14 - One
15 - Please (Single)
16 - The First Time

One and Please are so great at the end. And of course there is the silence before TFT. Gone into Miss Sarajevo is a great transition as well.

But then cos it's called 1990-2000, and Beautiful Day was a no.1 in 2000, surely it MUST be included?

But 'Night and Day' was released in 1990, how would it be if that song made it into the Best of 1980-1990

it would sound way out of place, although it's a good song

Mine is in chronological order. There is no Electrical Storm or THTBA, or ATYCLB songs. However I did cheat with TGBHF at the end.

1.) The Fly
2.) Even Better Than The Real Thing
3.) Mysterious Ways
4.) One
5.) Until The End Of The World
6.) Numb
7.) Lemon
8.) Stay (Faraway, So Close!)
9.) Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
10.) Miss Sarajevo
11.) Discotheque
12.) Mofo
13.) Staring At The Sun
14.) Gone
15.) Please
16.) The Ground Beneath Her Feet

I did 1980-1990 in a similar way, with 11 O' Clock Tick Tock as the re-recorded single.

1.) 11 O’Clock Tick Tock
2.) I Will Follow
3.) Out Of Control
4.) Gloria
5.) October
6.) Sunday Bloody Sunday
7.) New Year’s Day
8.) “40”
9.) Pride (In The Name Of Love)
10.) The Unforgettable Fire
11.) Bad
12.) Where The Streets Have No Name
13.) I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
14.) With Or Without You
15.) Desire
16.) Angel Of Harlem
17.) All I Want Is You
