I kind of feel that ATYCLB is a masterpiece along the lines of The Joshua Tree or Achtung Baby, except it's sandwiched between two great albums that both suffer from poor arrangement and/or production.

I much prefer HTDAAB, even though it doesn't really have the "feel" that a great album should.
After the first four or five songs, ATYCLB never really did too much for me. Beautiful Day and Walk On (and, to some extent, Elevation and Stuck) are classics, though. With HTDAAB, I can get some degree of enjoyment out of every song, despite some subpar lyrics.

Okay, let's try the "average score" method (track per track voting is indeed quite silly since the track order influences everything). This method isn't perfect either, as it doesn't do a good job of quantifying tone, feel, scope, theme, flow, etc, etc. I'll try and be as objective as possible:

As I suspected, HTDAAB is the more consistent album, with a higher number of good songs, but ATYCLB has more great songs -- and it's because of this that the album has a classic feel. HTDAAB has a lot of very good songs, but you could have a 1000 very good songs and still not have a classic album to make with them.

Honestly I like both, ATYCLB might fall apart towards the end and that keeps it from being an all time great, but it has some to-be classics on it. Bomb I love and would place it 3rd, great songs (could have had some even better ones as the sessions show) but no flow.
