I have yet to see how these two albums are so similar. Miracle Drug has a bit of a Beautiful Day influence in it, and Crumbs sounds a bit like Elctrical Storm, but I'm not hearing much more than that.

Lancemc said:Please do go on...because you still have a very weak argument.
1. Most U2 albums do. Wooo, big whoop.
2. Similar titles, very different songs
3. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
4. chimey guitar....ok.
5. theme, fair enough, but again, very different songs lyrically and musically
6. both have some soul, both kinda sexy love songs...you have a case with this one.
Overall those aren't the best examples for your argument, but i guess we all hear different things.
Lancemc said:Alright you did support some of your points there, but I still think its a bit of hyperbole saying, "Overall, these 2 albums are so similar, it is not even funny." I think your arguments about album themes is not quite as strong as others might suggest. U2 has always had a history of continuing the same themes form one album to another. The religious/spacial themes of The Joshua Tree carried over to Rattle and Hum. The technological and isolation themes of Achtung Baby were very prominent in Zooropa. The themes of rebirth and reawakening that are found throughout POP were restated and resolved in ATYCLB, so it's not at all surprising that similar themes found in ATYCLB will be spotted in Atomic Bomb. I would then go on to say that all those albums just mentioned are very different from each other, despite similar themes that carry over form one to the next.

Sometimes I get carried away too with the hyperbole, I admit.

Those songs mean a lot to me.
Everybody is different, i guess

Everyone has different taste so there will be many different opinions, none of it is a fact. I happen to not like Pop but I can appricate everyone's love of it.

1. Both albums open with explosive songs, then quieten down.
2. Stuck In A blah Vs. Sometimes You cant blah
3. peace on earth & love and peace
4. walk on & crumbs (damn that chiming guitar )
5. new york & city of bl (in theme)
6. in a little while & man and a woman
I could go on and on.....
