It's a very, very mad world.
After all the threads of what songs people like and what they don't like; lets just get it out in the open and list ONE song only off of each album U2 has made that you DO NOT REALLY CARE FOR out of the others on that album. It will probably hard with some albums, but I am sure there's at least one, people are not so crazy about....no matter how much you love them.

Heres mine...and no back lash please. Just for fun.

1. Boy - Shadows & Tall Trees
2. War - Refugee
3. Oct. - I Fall Down
4. UABRS- Gloria
5. UF - 4th of July
6. JT - Mothers of the Disappeared
7. R&H - Van Diemens Island
8. ABaby - So Cruel
9. Zoost. - Numb
10. POP - Gone
11. ATUCLB - Grace
12. U27 - Beautiful Day Remix
13. HTDAAB - One Step Closer
14. Best of 80-90 - A Room @ the Heartbreak Hotel
15. Best of 90-00 - North & South of the River

What did you come up with?

Only one? Fuck that:
  • Boy--"Into the Heart" and "The Ocean" are boring. I think "Shadows and Tall Trees" is weak as a closer, but it's still pretty good.
  • October--Pretty consistent (which is probably its problem; no real stand-outs). "Scarlet" is more ponderous, early U2 "experimentation." "Tomorrow" can be a bit dopey.
  • War--"Red Light" is pretty bad. And I always skip "Drowning Man." "The Refugee" is fun, though.
  • The Unforgettable Fire--"Indian Summer Sky" doesn't compare favorably to the other tracks. And "4th of July" isn't very interesting, even with the "IT'S ALL ONE BIG SONG!" theory.
  • The Joshua Tree--I hate "With or Without You." It's even worse live, shining like diamonds or not. Everything else is perfect.
  • Rattle and Hum--Well, all of the live tracks can go, to start. Even then, I have to be in the right mood to appreciate "Hawkmoon 269" or "Love Rescue Me." "When Love Comes To Town" and "God (Part II)" haven't aged particularly well. Easily their worst album.
  • Achtung, Baby--For some reason, I always skip "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses," although it isn't bad. I like "Trying To Throw...", and I think I'm the only one.
  • Zooropa--"Some Days Are Better Than Others" is their most obvious piece of filler. The album version of "Dirty Day" is a bit flat too, and I'm not always in the mood for "Daddy's Gonna Pay..." In general, side B is pretty weak, but it's all interesting anyway.
  • Pop--"Miami" is awful. I also don't have enough patience for Bono's "seductive" moaning and groaning on "If You Wear That Velvet Dress," although the rest of the band is on. I love "The Playboy Mansion," so nyah.
  • All That You Can't Leave Behind--"Kite" doesn't resonate with me emotionally at all. "Grace" is way too anticlimactic. I didn't like "Stuck..." at first, but it grew on me. I like the fun tracks, "In A Little While" and "Wild Honey," too.
  • How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb--Everything about "Sometimes..." is just awful. It's painful to listen to. "A Man and a Woman" is adult contemporary crap. "Crumbs From Your Table" really pales compared to the better material here and sounds like a weak hodgepodge of much better songs. "One Step Closer" has potential, but the atmospherics don't come off at all because of the production. "Yahweh" is silly. All the other songs are top quality, though (yes, even "All Because of You").
I like all of these albums, though.

I like it a lot too

so you're not alone

Boy - The Ocean
October - Is That All?
War - Red Light :barf:
The Unforgettable Fire - 4th of July
The Joshua Tree - Trip Through Your Wires (it would be a better fit on Rattle and Hum)
Rattle and Hum - Love Rescue Me :blahblah:
Achtung Baby - this is hard, but I'd have to go with So Cruel, still a good song, but my least fave on the record
Zooropa - The trite that is Babyface
Pop - Wake Up Dead Man has one great line at the beginning, then the rest is snoozefest for me
ATYCLB - Wild Honey
HTDAAB - One Step Closer, just the weakest song their IMO

I'm going to have to go listen to Boy and October again before I give an objective answer. As for the others, I will be brutally honest.

Bomb- Crumbs

Boy - Twilight

POP- MOFO

God Bless You!

I guess my list would beeeee...

Boy- Shadows and Tall Trees
October- October
War- Red Light
UABRS- Party Girl
The Unforgettable Fire- 4th of July
The Joshua Tree- Mothers
Achtung Baby- Trying to Throw Your Arms
Zooropa- Babyface
Pop- Playboy Mansion
ATYCLB- When I Look at the World
HTDAAB- A Man and A Woman

Boy--The Ocean

October--Scarlet

War--Surrender

Unforgettable Fire--Pride

JT--Trip Through Your Wires, Mothers of the Disappeared

R&H--Angel of Harlem

AB--Impossible to choose. Zoo Station, I guess, and that's only because it's the song I like the least, but still like a lot. :)

Zooropa--Same as AB, really. Hmm. I guess I'll choose Babyface.

Pop--The Playboy Mansion. Never got into this one as much as the others.

ATYCLB--Grace

HTDAAB--One Step Closer

Boy - The Ocean. It's boring.

October - Scarlet. It's boring.

War - Red Light. It's bad. If you took out those horns and backing vocals you'd have a decent song, but the extra shit just ruins it.

The Unforgettable Fire - 4th of July. It's boring.

Joshua Tree - Nothing, really. Though Mothers of the Disappeared is a track I never listen to unless I listen to the whole album.

Rattle and Hum - Well, Freedom for my People doesn't add much... :p Love Rescue Me might be "pretty" and Bob Dylan may have worked on it but that song is boring. I don't like the version of Still Haven't Found. All Along the Watchtower isn't anything special either, especially since they did so much better versions of it later, you know, with guitar solos and all. Rattle and Hum is kind of a mess.

Achtung Baby - None.

Zooropa - Some Days, I suppose, but that's a fun song. There's no song I really don't like.

Pop - is perfect.

All That You Can't Leave Behind - Grace. It's boring. But it does make a nice closer, if you listen to the whole album. But Walk On would have been better.

How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb - Nothing, really. Crumbs is probably my least favourite just because it's a bit derivative and the production is awful, but I still like the song, and the ending rules.

Boy - Shadows and Tall Trees

October (this one's hard to only pick one) - Scarlet

War - Red Light (my least favorite U2 song ever)
