I was watching The Best of 1990-2000 DVD and idly pondered over the videos for "Streets", "I still haven't found.." and "The Fly" and who all those people in the crowd were.

So I want to know:

Did some downtown LA cop tell you to move your sorry ass off the road in "Streets"?

Did you stumble out of a casino completely plastered and see an even more drunk Bono coming towards you?

Did you touch the window of Zoo, Carnaby St when Fake Bono kissed the glass?

Please post your stories here?

*I shall now sit back and watch 20 people post that they hadn't even been conceived in 1987*

I`m right at the front of the tip of the heart for Slane (well, to the left about 2-3 feet) - I`d have to slow down my VCR/DVD player to see me though...

I made it to the Brooklyn show but I don`t think they captured anyone from the audience in the actual video..

I wasn't in the video, but I knew the guy who is:

You know the video for Where the Streets have no Name? Well, at the end of the video as the song is closing out and radio narration is occurring, they show scenes of the crowd on the street below. In particular the camera zooms to man thumbing through a newspaper on a paper box. Pretty clear shot of the guy too, you can't miss him.

In 1988 I ran into this guy in Seattle, and I would not have known it was him, but he claimed to be that guy and told me to look at the video -- and sure enough it really was him, it was obvious. He told me he was thumbing through the LA Times looking to see if the rooftop concert was listed. The shot was taken when U2 just started singing on the rooftop.

I would see this guy at local political/activist gatherings here in Seattle, and one day he confessed to me that he was a fugitive. His crime: while working for the second largest adult magazine publisher (hint: PH), in LA, in a rage he through away piles of photos, negatives, etc. The claim was they were worth millions of dollars. He was on the run and went by the fake name Justice. That was all in 1988. I wonder what happened to the guy? Sigh.

I was in Brooklyn Jammed episode. I flew to NYC on a whim they might be rumored to play...ended up on front row 5 feet from him. My best closeups (lol) were in the DirectTV airing last weekend. They showed the majority of the concert. ;) Time of my life...

I did NYC for 6 days-flight, hotel, only 3 real meals (rest street food in Manhattan) for $700 from Alabama. Pretty good, I thought.

That is such a horrid picture :grumpy:

I seriously look like I have been told I just won a million dollars

What we were seeing was as good. I am frightening, but the moment, the energy, the emotion was genuine. Everyone looks "interesting". We had just been standing for 10 hours at that point...I think we look pretty good!! ;)

I think I saw that hand...I have only watched the thing like a thousand times. Ok, maybe 1001.

Damn! That's quite a story. Was he a U2 fan too? Now I wonder what happened to him too. :hmm:

So am I right in saying that Miroslava co-starred in the MTV Jammed thingy? Unless my eyes deceive me, she is featured very prominently during the crowd shots.

Oh yeah, I'm one of the trumpeteers in the Sweetest Thing video.
Just kidding.

did I mention that I wasn't even born in 1987?
No?

Well, I wasn't.

I'm not in a video, but I have a blurred screencap of me from CD:UK - nowhere near the quality of Ree's wonderful snaps. It's annotated because I forwarded it to my father, and knew he wouldn't be astute enough to work out what was going on unless it was labelled. Should have some clearer ones once they air the COBL performance

Beau2ifulday---cool pic. I love the captions--you have me on that. Very professional. I teach 2nd grade- you'd think I could write more neatly w/ ms paint. Not born in 87! I was starting college in the fall of 87. I am dust. It is official. Dust...and I am close to be blowin in the wind apparently.:(

Oh, I tried doing the caption freehand, but the words were completely unreadable. I gave up, and succombed to paint shop pro. I tell a lie too - I was born in August 1987. Just thought i'd get in there with the obligatory 'man, I was still in the foetus when...' comment before anyone else did ;)
And don't be daft, foo'! You flew to NYC on a whim to see something you weren't even sure was happening - you're nowhere near dust yet.

No, but I am in a lot of porn flicks.

COOOOOL!!!!;)

True...I do have my moments. Thanks. :) Totally the coolest thing I have ever done. Of course that is not saying a lot. lol

That's what my grandma says :shifty:

And love your cap beau2ifulday! :lmao:

Cool fingers, Headache! Where were you --middle, Edge's side, etc and in depth of crowd? I was in front, infront of (very slightly to the right) of Bono. I was just trying to figure out where you were in relation to me...it looked like middle of stage, but how far back? You could've been right behind me for all I know...I couldn't see back at all.

Well yes, but it just not the greatest look to capture on film... I look borderline psychotic..
