I wasn't sure if this belonged in the thread about singles addiction, but I figured it might be better to start a new thread. I want to get into U2 singles a bit, though I figure it'll be more than I can afford if I try to get them all at once. So which ones are best to start out with? I'm talking based on b-sides and such, as well as the actual a-side quality. I know a lot of you are hardcore into singles, and I just want to get a taste of it.

Change is the only constant

I wouldn't say I'm hardcore, but here are some great ones. I don't actually have all of these (ie. WOWY) but I have the b-sides on the greatest hits disc.

WOWY--Luminous Times, Walk to the Water
Beautiful Day--Summer Rain, Always
EBTTRT--Salome, Where did it all go wrong, Lady with the spinning head (extended dance remix)
ISHFWILF--Spanish Eyes (I think) and Deep in the Heart. I reaaaaaaaalllllly want this one for Deep in the Heart.

In no particular order...

1. Stay/IGYUMS (Listening right now, in fact! I will be grateful until I die for that recording of Love is Blindness)
2. Popheart
3. EBTTRT (Gotta love LWTSH Extended Dance Mix!!!)
4. All I Want Is You (for Unchained Melody and Everlasting Love)
5. HMTMKMKM (for nothing but that one song!)

I was quite proud of abbreviating that one since you don't see it too often, and the abbreviation turned out very well as a word of its own:

Hello,

I've got a whole bunch of U2's singles (I almost think everything released as CD-single), so it's very difficult for me (to choose from so many).
Anyway, here are my picks (in a-chronological (? what's the exact word for this?) order):
1. Elevation (Aus. ltd. edition) - I Remember You, New York & Don't Take Your Guns To Town
2. SIAMYCGOO (Fr. ltd. edition) - Big Girls Are Best and 2 live tracks from Manray (EBTTRT & AIWIY)
3. IGWSHA - Slow Dancing, Two Shots Of Happy... + SBS from Sarajevo
4. Please (Popheart EP) - 4 live tracks (3 from Rotterdam) with the definite versions of Please, Streets & SATS
5. Stay (Live Format) - original demo of Slow Dancing + BTBS & Love Is Blindness live
6. EBTTRT - 2 great new songs and a great remix of Lady With The Spinning Head
7. One - 1 B-side, 1 great cover of Satellite Of Love and a nice remix of Night & Day
8. New Year's Day - 1 B-side (Treasure) and 3 live tracks (Fire, Brick & A Day Without Me)

So this is my Top 8 and I really cannot limit it any further. BTW, for those who are wondering, the reason I've included only one '80s single is that many B-sides already appeared on The Best Of & B-sides album, so if you have that album you already have much of the '80s output.

C ya!
