Rattle And Hum "Redux"

Took all the live tracks out...can't make any kind of flow with them...

4.God Part II
5.Angel Of Harlem

[

Same exact songs as mine, though different order. I kept a similar order as the album. I like the way some of the studio songs flow when the live songs don't get in the way.

5. When Love Comes to Town
6. Heartland

10. God Part II
11. Van Diemen's Land
12. All I Want is You (can't imagine it anything but last)

Ok, I am going to sleep.

On the topic of Levitate, I feel that it sounds like a bridging song between Pop and ATYCLB, not quite suited to either album. When I make my playlists, I'm just going to go with what my files say and hopefully it won't be too wrong.

OK, for Boy, not only am I using the b-sides, but I'm also using studio demos that U2 recorded before the Boy sessions. Some other unreleased tracks will probably show up in other tracklistings.

13. Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World
14. Ultra Violet (Light My Way)
15. Lady With The Spinning Head
16. Where Did It All Go Wrong?

I don't feel like doing Zooropa or Pop. I don't have much to add to Zooropa, and I want to keep Passengers stuff and HMTMKMKM for Pop, but that would make it too long and it doesn't fit. So ... I'm not doing either of them.

ALL THAT YOU CAN'T LEAVE BEHIND

(I'm going to put Levitate on here. Just because I want to, and I believe Edge said it was a direction ATYCLB could have gone. And my copy of Flower Child says it's from HTDAAB but I'm pretty certain it's an ATYCLB track. Big Girls Are Best was released during the ATYCLB era so I'll use it here.)

4. Crumbs From Your Table
5. One Step Closer
6. Original Of The Species
7. Smile
8. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own

I guess I just don't understand why everyone wants to put these b-sides on the albums. Most of them suck.

Most of them certainly do not! Especially if we're talking about the Unforgettable Fire and Joshua Tree eras. Those b-sides were gold.

Spanish Eyes
Luminous Times

Not true. Most of the b-sides (not covers) from Joshua Tree, Rattle & Hum and Achtung Baby and Pop are quite good, some rivaling album tracks. Also, some of the b-sides and unreleased tracks from ATYCLB and HTDAAB are also great (Levitate, Love You Like Mad, Mercy, Summer Rain). Most of these songs are left off due to not fitting the correct sound of the album, not because of quality (although there are a few that are kinda bad).

Have you heard all the b-sides?

Ah shit, I forgot to put The Hands That Built America and Electrical Storm into HTDAAB. Try this:

1. Love And Peace Or Else
2. Vertigo
3. All Because Of You
4. Electrical Storm
5. Crumbs From Your Table
6. One Step Closer
7. Original Of The Species
8. The Hands That Built America
9. Smile
10. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
11. City Of Blinding Lights
12. Miracle Drug
13. A Man And A Woman
14. Fast Cars
15. Are You Gonna Wait Forever?
16. Mercy
17. Yahweh

You know, thinking about this 'bad b-sides' issue, I can't think of any that I think are truly BAD. Red Light is my benchmark of bad, and none are remotely on its level. There are a few that are throwaway songs that are just ear candy and nothing significant (i.e. Big Girls Are Best, J. Swallow), but there are some absolutely SENSATIONAL b-sides. Most bands would be proud to release Spanish Eyes or The Three Sunrises or Lady With The Spinning Head as singles!

sweetest thing is from JT? is there a version of this?

Yes, it was originally the b-side of Where The Streets Have No Name.

The site u2mp3s.com says Smile is from "Dismantle" sessions and Flower Child, Levitate and Love you like mad are from "Behind" sessions.

I will post my list in a bit, while I trim it, dust it off etc...

In the meantime...

1) Can somebody please send me an MP3 of 'Are you Gonna Wait Forever?' ?? I'd be extremely grateful!! okcomputer@gmail.com

2)
you made that way too long

No way!! I don't think you can make these things too long...! I've actually made loads of these so-called "Redux" albums, adding all an album's B-sides and decent 'demos/unreleased' stuff etc...! And they all turn out great...I just turn them into double albums to make sure they don't drag on, on ONE disc...! Meaning tracks which used to end sides of a record now end a whole disc, etc...'Red Hill Mining Town' ends Disc One of the Joshua Tree nicely, and 'Spanish Eyes' makes a great Disc Two opener!!

Enough of that though...back later.

Just sent you the AYGWF mp3.

I've just revised two of them...

HTDAAB "Redux"

Just adding Vertigo here. Vertigo and Native Son on the same tracklisting. Consecutively.

1.Vertigo
2.Native Son(or Vertigo, whichever you prefer)
3.Crumbs From Your Table
4.Miracle Drug
5.Are You Gonna Wait Forever
6.Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
7.Xanax And Wine(or Fast Cars, whichever you prefer)
8.Original Of The Species
9.Smile
10.Mercy
11.City Of Blinding Lights
12.All Because Of You
13.A Man And A Woman
14.Love You Like Mad
15.Yahweh
16.Love And Peace Or Else
17.One Step Closer

Zooropa "Redux"

Decided to add in some Passengers tracks after all...

1.Zooropa
2.Babyface
3.Your Blue Room
4.Numb
5.Some Days Are Better Than Others
6.Lemon
7.Stay
8.Always Forever Now
9.Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car
10.Miss Sarajevo
11.The First Time
12.Slow Dancing
13.Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me
14.Dirty Day
15.The Wanderer

I said MOST of the b-sides suck, Axver. MOST. Mercy isn't really a b-side because I don't it's on any single, at least in the States. On top of that, I'd say 95% of them are throwaways. Summer Rain? Please, that song sucks. Why do you think the band didn't include them on the album? They weren't good enough to be on any.
