Hi everyone -

The tour finished five months ago today (sniff) and I'm
winding down the work on U2photos.com. It took forever to
scan and code but it's all done: more than 1,000 original
tour photos from fifty Elevation shows added to the site.
(For those who have never been to the site before, that's in
addition to nearly 1,000 from PopMart, for a mostly
accidental total of 2,002 photos.)

Without encouragement (and places to sleep) from the U2 fan
community, it simply would not have been possible. (As it
was, I ended up selling glowsticks at Britney shows to get
the gas money to get to the next U2 show. I'm not proud.
And actually, yeah, it was fun.) I'm pleased I was able to
get so many pictures people like to see, and I'd like to
thank everyone for the opportunity.

As part of that thank you: twenty-two new or revised full
screen photos from the Elevation tour, and seven from the
PopMart tour. Some of the Elevation wallpapers are from drum
scans, and I've never released PopMart photos in this size
before. They're more than five times the size of the
gallery images. I posted them two weeks ago and since then
have had more than 80,000 downloads, so I guess people think
they're worth seeing. They're all free.

I don't make a living from the site, and it's expensive to
run. People often ask for prints and I've been doing them
to keep the site online and free (and without advertising).
Well, my negatives and gear will be in storage until
probably September, and even then I'm not sure I will be
able to let people pick any photo like I do now. So if you
wanted a print, now's the time: I can't take LightJet
orders after Noon PT Friday, May 3rd. (I realize that's
tomorrow, sorry; I didn't have much notice either. Long
story short: mom's sick, I'm broke; I'm giving up my house
and heading east for a while.) I can't take Frontier orders
after Friday, May 10th. As an additional thank you for
everyone's help, enter the reference code HEART on the
ordering page and get a fairly hefty discount.

Bravo. All your effort and talent is greatly appreciated.Thanks.
Wow I am listening to an Eric Clapton song I haven't heard before, so sad, and now you're leaving too. Good luck man.

Hey Otto, thanks for sharing your awesome pics of the band with their many fans...and the pic below has to be one of the best pics I've ever seen of Bono...fantastic!

Thanks everyone, it's much appreciated.

BostonAnne - she'll be ok from this one but I still feel compelled to go visit for a while, you know? I waited too long with with dad.

CK - This has been a solid year and change of my life, and while I have no regrets, it's time it's done. And if I'd made more than the standard deduction in the last five years, I'd think about an accoutant.

Spanisheyes - I'm glad you like that photo, I like it too - it made me feel better for not taking any ZooTV photos.

Otto,

You never cease to amaze me with your commitment to quality in your craft. I applaude your efforts and will be sure to order a print or two once I decide from among the countless high quality shots.

Your photos (and commitment) are fantastic, Otto.

Far better than anything I've ever seen any other photographer do.
