A novel tour idea (let it spread)

The Stones recently announced their tour.

We know that.

We also know that they will be playing stadiums, arenas, and clubs during the tour. An example is here in NYC they are going to play Giants Stadium, Madison Square Garden, and Roseland.

I think this is a fabulous idea. My point is this, I hope this idea is contageous.

I think the Stones and U2 work off each other in a competetive way and this can obviously be seen in their stage production. Since many of the same people work for both camps (Mark Fisher ...) many ideas seem to penetrate the tours, but get improved on each time.

I am hoping the Stones have a succesful tour; 1 because they have been playing for 40 damn years, 2 because they are great, and 3 so the next time U2 hits the road they will do maybe the same thing.

I would like to see a Stadium/Club tour as I don't really see how a stadium/arena tour is feasible (2 diff. stages etc...) and I think the band gave us a taste with the Irving Plaza, Man Ray, Astoria shows pre-elevation.

just a thought...

You make a good point. Maybe you should post this in the "U2 vs. The Rolling Stones" thread:
