towards the end, which is kind of a cool lyric. No one else seems to hear it, so i'll just accept that i'm a nut.

I honestly cannot believe this thread. All you people going crazy over a 15 sec. recording with bad quality, hardly audible stuff, that most probably does not mean anything at all. It really could be anything, the guys just fooling around. I hate all this speculation and I seriously think there should be no "beach recordings" at all because it just leads to all kind of crazy theories. I mean how dare we judge a song or even the direction of a possible whole album just by listening to some 15 seconds of crap quality? Some people here seriously seem to be pretty bored.

It's fun and exciting, that's why! Who the bloody hell cares if we never hear any of it again? I'm not sure you have the essence of this forum down pat. Can you imagine how BORING this place would be if there were no rumours? No unrecognisable snippets? No made-up lyrics? Every second thread would be -- New Album - Spring '08 or Should Eno and Lanois produce the next album?
