I sent you an email, but i don't think it worked - so i'm letting you know - and i should have done it earlier, as they already came on Monday.

History check: when did U2 play Sarajevo for the first time?
Wasn't it Popmart - "f--- the past, kiss the future"? I know they had some satellite transmission from Sarajevo during Zoo tv, but they played Kosevo stadium for the first time during Popmart, right?

To answer your question. Yes, 9-23-97 Kosevo Stadium was the first U2 show there. Towards the end of the European Zooropa tour in 1993 they had a satellite link up during the show (right before Bad) with someone in Sarajevo who would talk with Bono about what was going on there.

They did plan to play a small club there during 1993 but they were told not to come because it would be to dangerous and the concert might attract bombing. Read the book "Until The End Of The World" there is a chapter where they discuss the plan to play there in 1993.
