"Blue Crack"
An Anthem For All Interferencers

(Sung to the tune of "Beautiful Day")

The forum is blue
At home on the internet
Made for U2
It surely is the best yet
And you're in luck:
There are many kinds of topics there
It's bang for your buck
It costs less than underwear
You'll make some great new friends
They'll have you keep comin' back
Don't resist, 'cause in the end
You''ll return for Blue Crack

Sixty-eight posts today!
The sun falls, you see night
Sixty-eight posts today!
How did it get this way?

You're stuck at work
But you need some Interference
You read some threads
Didn't ask your boss for the clearance
You love this place
Even fake Edge didn't phase you
You post all over
'Cause it's been so good to you

Eighty-four posts today!
What more is there to say?
Eighty-four posts today!
(Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuue)
Boring
Take me to another thread
I'm sick of
The countless stupid head-to-heads...

See the web in shades of blue
See Elvis right in front of you
See some pictures: PLEBA's the best
See the way the girls ogle Bono's chest
See the rumors spread and take flight
Everything You Know Isn't Right and
Seen it all? That I certainly doubt
Just hit refresh, there's no reason to pout

I wasn't always this way
I wasted my whole day
Wasn't this way...
Typing
Voting in another poll
Posting
Ten thousand threads is now my goal

What you don't have
You can find it here
What you need is
Blue Crack year after year
What you don't have
You can find it here
Can find it here

I want some Blue Crack today...

What a stirring tribute!

I love it! :applaud:

My favourite line: "It costs less than underwear"

Someone with a good voice seriously needs to record that and link it. Seriously. Stop laughing, I'm serious.

I've actually been thinking about that. If I can find an inexpensive microphone, I'll record a version of the song over the karaoke track. I have a decent enough voice, sung in some musicals.

So how long did that masterpiece take you to create? The whole 9-5 or what?
Great work, keep it up.

It took me about an hour, on and off. I would listen to the original song (BD), and then try and get my own word patterns to match, doing my best to fit Bono's inunciation.

This is the first time I've done a song parody in a few years, but back in high school I did them all the time. I parodied an N SYNC song called, "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You", with the ode to cheap skate men: "He Must Have Spent A Couple Of Bucks On You." There were others, but I can't remember the titles. I like doing this sort of thing because it keeps my writing skills active. If the muse strikes, perhaps I'll write another U2 parody sometime in the near future. Thanks for the compliment. :)
