I write and record my own music and i find the best way to get a song down the way you want it is to burn the instrumental onto a CD and drive around with it playing in the car. It's great, you can sing at the top of your lungs and not worry about messing it up or anyone hearing it. So I totaly understand this. Even if it has rough vocals you can sing new melodies and come up with ideas.
