Rumours are the Swedish duo may reform for a tour late this year - so I thought maybe we should get ready with a Roxette playlist!

I understand most US fans have been neglected since 'Joyride', but the rest of the world got the goods well into the 2000's...

So your top ten please!

Mine would be -

1. Wish I Could Fly
2. Almost Unreal
3. Salvation
4. Joyride (album version)
5. Spending My Time
6. Love Is All (Shine Your Light On Me)
7. Fireworks
8. It Will Take A Long Long Time
9. The Look
10. Crash! Boom! Bang!

Honourable mentions go to Queen Of Rain, June Afternoon, Fading Like A Flower, Vulnerable, Opportunity Nox and oh, about 60 others!

I think Roxette is the cheesiest of all the cheese out there, but I have a weakness for their Look Sharp record, so here goes:

1. Paint
2. Dangerous
3. Dance Away
4. Half a Woman, Half a Shadow
5. Dressed for Succes

I've run out of Look Sharp goodness... :grumpy:

6. The Big L.
7. Spending my Time
8. I Wish I could Fly
9. You Don't Understand Me
10. Listen to Your Heart

Roxette pretty much owned the world along with Madonna and the New Kids back in 1989-1990.

3. Almost Unreal
4. It Must Have Been Love
5. Crash Boom Bang
6. June Afternoon
7. The Look
8. Dressed For Success
9. How Do You Do?
10. You Don't Understand Me

that'll do..

I can't even name more than 3 of their songs.

All I know is joyride, It must have been love, and the look...

To say they "owned the world" during 89 is a far far stretch...

From 88-91, they were indeed one of the most popular acts around the world, although to say they owned it is probably not the best wording.

In just the U.S., they had a string of three #1 hits, two #2 hits, and several more Top 40 songs.

It was brief, but they were up there for a bit.

Great thread! Here's my top 10:

1. Vulnerable
2. Big L
3. I Love The Sound Of Crashing Guitars
4. Dangerous
5. Sleeping In My Car
6. Dressed For Success
7. Fading Like A Flower
8. Crash Boom Bang
9. June Afternoon
10. It Must Have Been Love

I'm sure they had better material, but I can't STAND those 3 songs, not even when they were released.

"Laying in the back seat of my car...making love...to yoooooou"!

That lyric and the rockon smiley don't go together though. One would have to listen to the music.

I dug out the RoxBox last night - 'Church Of Your Heart' owns! 'Joyride' really needs more love - as an album it is awesome - Joyride, Fading Like A Flower, Big L, Spending My Time, Perfect Day, Church Of Your Heart, Soul Deep... methinks a reissue is in order! Quick! Call Sweden!

they were cheese even back then

and not a wonderful french cheese either

swedish cheese

Come come now - apart from ABBA, Ace Of Base and Aqua (I think they are half Norwegian) there has been very limited quantities of Swedish cheese out there - so you should enjoy what you get!!

May I humbly recommend you try the latest Swedish gouda - Robyn. Her latest album is pretty special.
