We were playing "Top 5" at the office today, and I think we once had a thread like this, but I couldn't find it, so I'm starting a new one.

Post your top 5 music list. Anything music-related welcome.

I'll start with one I came up with at work--top 5 U2 songs, 1st 3 albums only:

5.) Surrender
4.) Rejoice
3.) New Year's Day
2.) I Will Follow
1.) Out of Control

Ok pax, this was tough, but here's mine:
1. Sunday Bloody Sunday
2. Tomorrow
3. I Will Follow
4. New Year's Day
5. 40

Seconds and Two Hearts would be six and seven, and The Ocean would be eight just for its lyrics being prophetic. Cool thread!

5 Disco/pop-songs that are too horrible to be true, but are great to play before a night on the town (does that makes sense??)!

1. King - Love And Pride
2. Kajagoogoo - Too Shy
3. Wham! - The Edge of Heaven
4. Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round
5. The Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star

:reject:

Top five albums in the last five years:

005. American Idiot - Green Day
004. All That You Can't Leave Behind - U2
003. Hot Fuss - The Killers
002. Hail to the Theif - Radiohead
001. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Wilco

top 5 songs i'd want to hear at a funeral (not necessarily mine)

1. how to disappear completely - radiohead
2. atmosphere - joy division
3. is that all there is ? - pj harvey's version of the classic peggy lee song
4. do you realize? - the flaming lips (for like a parade procession)
5. death is not the end - nick cave & friends (depressingly fun)

Well there's worse things in the world than poor old Jimmy Buffett, at least he has a sense of humour about himself (or seems to anyway), something Jon Poodle Hair Bon Jovi lacks.

I agree on (2) and (4) though.

Hmmm, how could I have forgotten about Nickleback. Damn. Oh well...they are definitely in the top 5 then. And it's not so much Jimmy Buffett himself that I hate, it's just the insanely stupid, huge amount of people in my school that worship the man. They just totally instill me with the greatest contempt for him. They are just so dumb...
