Make one cd, make sure it has the following:

Bad Days
Do You Realize??
Ego Trippin'
Yoshimi Pt. 1
The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song
Race for the Prize
Fight Test
Slow Nerve Action
She Don't Use Jelly
Turn It On
and When You Smile

the rest are up to you, I know I probably neglected most of The Soft Bulletin, but I find it very overrated.

Great list. I would also add something from the second half of At War With the Mystics (Pompei.. is my favorite) and the second half of Soft Bullettin. Probably the slower tunes.

I'd definitely go with Mr. Ambulance Driver, but the Wedding Crashers mix is 20 seconds shorter and just sounds better.

Waitin' for a Superman and The Gash would be great too.

any flaming lips mix has to have lightning strikes the postman.

Absolutely. Also, if you want something from the very early days, I recommend Shine On Sweet Jesus.

God Walks Among Us Now or Talkin' 'Bout the Smiling Deathporn Immortality Blues (Everyone Wants to Live Forever) are possibilities, it just depends on how far back you want to go.

Anyone here seen Fearless Freaks? It's a documentary on the history of The Flaming Lips. I saw it a few days ago and thought it was one of the best rockdocs I'd ever seen. I immediately began work on a Flaming Lips mix.

I am actually on the fearless freaks DVD. I am from the OKC/Norman area and they were filming for the DVD when I saw them back in spring of 03.

I'm going to keep bumping this bad boy because of my massive F'Lips addiction.

In the Morning of Magicians is almost on the verge of making me cry every time I hear it:

In the morning I'd awake and couldn't remember
What is love and what is hate? - the calculations error
Oh-oh-oh-what is love and what is hate?
And why does it matter? - is to love just a waste
How can it matter?

As the dawn began to break - I had to surrender
The universe will have its way - too powerful to master
Oh-oh-oh-what is love and what is hate?
And why does it matter? - is to love just a waste??
And how can it matter?

Couple that with Ego Tripping... and good lord, that's like dropping 50 lbs of Melancholy and Reflection right on my face.

Don't forget Do You Realize...

Despite its pink-n-robotic exterior, Yoshimi is HEAVY.

After listening to Yoshimi non-stop for the past few days, it might claim the spot of LMP's Favorite F'Lips Album from Clouds Taste Metallic.

Yeah, Do You Realize?? is definitely heavy-duty, Doc.

Yoshimi is still my favorite Flips album, and not even for the huge songs. While Fight Test is my favorite song of theirs period, the second half of that album is stellar and truly makes the album.

Magicians, Ego Tripping, and Summertime are my favorites, but that entire side is beautifully cohesive. It's all amazing.

Very cool. That must have been exciting! I've never seen them live. What did you think of the finished film?

btw, my 5 favorite Lips songs (one each from the 5 Lips albums I own):

A Spoonful Weighs a Ton
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1
Turn it On
Placebo Headwound
It Overtakes Me
