Nobody, and I mean nobody, does it better than white male rock bands.
By the same token I can question why everyone always neglects Bhutanese music. It's always white male rock bands. Highly Euro/America-centric. Probably a holdover from colonial/patriachal attitudes.

It's like how a tie becomes a phallic symbol of female subservience.

Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

1. Eddie Vedder

2. Maynard James Keenan

3. Matt Bellamy

Well, these three are my big favourites... after them I like lots and lots of vocalists in a similar way, I can't choose only two to fill the top5.

Thom Yorke, Waters/Gilmour, Freddie Mercury, Roger Daltrey, Chris Cornell, Layne Staley, Jeff Buckley, Liam/Noel, ...

As of right now, Feist probably has my favorite voice. You could make a strong case for eugenics if it resulted in more Feists in the world.

Jeff Tweedy, of course. This photo is actually from the first time I saw Wilco. Obviously, I didn't take it.

Chan Marshall is certainly up there.

This list isn't complete for me without a Damien Rice mention.

And I'd be hard pressed not to include our old pal Bono
