just make sure you don't boo any of our players.

booing your own team is not cool

some england 'fans' should be ashamed of themselves

i've lost my voice, and haven't been able to speak in nearly a week. i'd be so lucky to be physically able to boo them.

but of course, i wouldn't. i agree, it's pathetic when people boo their players... unless of course it makes sense.

but at the start of a match or early on? ridiculous.

any idea what the starting 11 will look like?

i'm assuming it'll be something like this:

owen - crouch

cole gerrard barry beckham

bridge/a. cole (is he fit yet?) campbell richards lescott

??

that's a pretty... unstable backend if you're asking me. i wouldn't want to go against croatia with that. definitely could use terry back there... and rooney too for that matter up front.

Of course...

The Russians or the Croatians could massively screw this up.

And then suddenly Stevie Mac is the new Alf Ramsey again...

is it even a massive screw up if russia doesn't collect all three points on saturday?

haven't israel avoided defeat all but once in like their last 18 home matches?

it might not all be over quite yet.

Benayoun being out for Israel is a massive blow for them and us.

i think russia will win but i'm not 100% sure, israel can be a difficult place to go to.

as much as i will hate england not being there in the euro's next year if the worst comes to worst, it could be the best thing in the long run if we employ a good manager with a good record.

Personally, I think Israel will get a point off Russia on Sat. night, but I still don't think ingerland will qualify, everyone seems to think if Russia drop points against Israel its a forgone conclusion ingerland will qualify, but if you ask me, this has got so much in common with Poland, in '73, & I can honestly see Croatia getting at least a point next week, which will see ingerland out, & to be absolutely honest thats no more than they deserve, no disrespect to any of the nations in that group, but I really don't think any of the Major footballing nations would have had too much trouble qualifying from such a group, the sad fact has to be faced, were just not that good. Mclown is certainly way out of his depth, but the players have to take a huge share of responsibility for this, & I personally think Jesus Christ himself would have trouble making something of the shambles that is england!

last time the netherlands didn't qualify for a major tournament it didn't upset me in the slightest
cause if we would have played then as we did during the qualifies we would have gotten destroyed cause we were so poor at the time

One thing i will say is that mclaren has been unlucky with injuries however it's still no excuse for some of the team selections he's made. anyone remember the left hand side of frank lampard and phil neville?

rumour has it tomorrow that he's going to revert to the brilliant midfield pairing of stevie and frank with good old becks on the right. the combo that did so well for us at the world cup. that's the same becks that hasn't kicked a ball for a couple of months, is nearly 33 and now plays in a complete mickey mouse league.

the sooner steve mclaren is out the better. if we do qualify for the euro's it certainly won't be on merit.

is that what i'm hearing?

wow the english are a finicky lot.

he was unreal this year before his injuries forced him to the sidelines.

he was excellent for real madrid for the last couple of months of the season but after seeing years of mediocre england performances with him being the mainstay of the team i think we need a new direction. we need fast and tricky wingers like david bentley, ashley young, aaron lennon and shaun wright phillips. these players are the future. the longer becks plays at that standard of football, the more detrimental it will be to his game when he rejoins with the england squad who've been playing top class premiership football week in week out.

i still think he's a very good footballer but i don't think what he offers will take this team any further.

if i ever hear another word about aaron lennon and SWP being the "next generation" of this club, i'm going to go absolutely mental.

tell me... what exactly has aaron lennon done? especially post world cup? he
s always injured and SWP while like lennon has pace, is limited otherwise.

beckham right now is better than either of those whether his fitness is 80 per cent or not.

lennon is a classic example of people praising him for his "potential" rather than his current form. how much longer is that gonna last exactly?

this is all a mute point anyway for austria and croatia as lennon and swp are both injured anyway (although swp has now joined the club in vienna).

Beckham would do fine for England if they could tether him to within 30 feet of the right sideline and play him with a rb that overlaps well.

Becks only real value at this point is his long range passing. If the team attacks primarily through the center and left flanks and then reverses field quickly, he could be very deadly in sending crosses into the box.
