Absolutely. I despise how pumped-up baseball has gotten in the late 90s/00s, but what he did was not illegal when he broke the record so meh.

He's a definite first ballot hall of famer.

Then again, so is Pete Rose.

I voted Other. If he talks about his past then maybe I'll remember his past. If he doesn't then my vote would be Never.

I voted other also.

I'd want to know who widespread 'roids were when he played. I think eventually we'll have an idea. If it's revealed than many/most of MLB was juicing, including the picthers, then I think you judge him in the context of his era, call it the "PED era" or whatever, realize that he dominated within his era, and put him in.

The other thing to look at in that case is, if it's found most of the league was doing something, look at a little guy who clearly wasn't who absolutely dominated in that era - Pedro Martinez - and he's even more remarkable.

He only had one thing going for him, so the steroids are irrelevant to me.

He's not in with or without them.

I fail to see the connection. As an author and sports writer, isn't he entitled to change his mind? What do his book profits have to do with it? Is he asking McGwire to return money?

I would not vote McGwire into the HOF.
