Something that'll get you motivated...I need inspiration, instead of the melodrama Nickelback crap they've been playing at my gym lately. Makes me want to sleep, not run...

So far, I've found Zoo Station works well. And Last Night (Strokes).

I try to listen to really rocking albums that have short songs at the gym. That way you dont get bored and lose the motivation.

Some things I find work well:

Almost any punk album (I listen to AFI and Bouncing Souls alot)
Weezer albums
Rage Against the Machine albums

Lots others, you just gotta think about it before you take it with ya to the gym, ask yourself,"Is this going to bore me or get me pumped up?"

my current mp3 playlist for the gym:

Bathwater - No Doubt
Hella Good - No Doubt
No One Knows - Queens of the Stone Age
Alternative Ulster - Stiff Little Fingers

The crap they play at my gym makes headphones and my own music a necessity.

They play untolerable songs in the gymn I go in... my ideal set of songs in gym would be

Isolation - Joy Division
Idiotique - RH
National anthem - RH
WSHNN - U2
Discoth* - U2
Mofo - U2
Iron lung - RH
Blurry - Puddle of Mudd
Another brick - Floyd
Song2 - Blur
Zoostation - U2
Daddy gonna - U2

there are lots cant think of it right now..

bulletproof", "everything in the right place" & "how to disappear completely" for YOGA ... :)

I like to listen to a lot of cd mixes that I make when I work out. Other people I like to listen to while working out:

*Garbage
*The Clash
*The Strokes
*U2 (Pop and AB)
*Beastie Boys
*Nirvana
*New Order

Etc...basically music that is either loud, dancy, or just makes me wanna bust some ass.

I took the U2 Best of 1990-2000 with me to the gym today. It works really well. You can't beat Mysterious Ways, Even Better Than the Real Thing, Numb, Gone, Until the End of the World and HMTMKMKM for workout songs

Thanks guys..these choices are all sooo much better than the gino-beat crap they have playing at the gym now. I swear, I feel like I'm at a really bad club. Everyone is sweaty, the guys are staring at you, the music is bad, I'm thirsty, worried about how my body is looking in comparison to everyone elses, tired, the guys are all trying to be macho...

Wow...maybe should just go to a club instead of the gym...it seems the same...
