I believe it...when I worked at B&N, people constantly asked where the bathroom was. We'd tell them "Back wall, left hand corner of the store, under the sign that says "Restroom."
At least once a day, perhaps more on the weekends, we'd have someone go to the back of childrens and go out the fire escape door. The door was glass. It looked out onto a four lane street. There was no possible way the bathroom was there!!
I had one woman even yell at me and the other employee about it. "I was LOOKING for the pay phone." It was completely our fault, not hers.
One of them was probably the one who went out for a smoke!!
