Why do celebrities usually only date other celebrities?

Why? I've always wondered this. It never works out, dont they know this by now? They have money, so they really dont need to date another celebrity because they want to be with someone that has money.. why not find a nice guy/girl off the street that you connect with? Why does it always have to be another celebrity?

Are there any celebrities that are dating or married to 'nobodys'? If so please list them. :challenge:

Probably b/c that's their social circle? I guess I could flip it around and say I'd never date a celebrity b/c I don't know any and wouldn't know where to even meet one.

Josh Holloway of LOST is married to his longtime girlfriend who I don't believe is famous for anything.

Ah well, do celebs really get much chance to hang out with 'normal' people? Their social circle consists of other celebrities so that is who they go out with. Plus there is probably the fear that are people going out with them because they are rich and famous or is it really because they actually like them? They can have that security a bit more with people on a similar fame level.

Matt Damon's wife Luciana is not famous or even in the business. She was working as a bartender when they met.

I think the celebs who are with a "regular" person usually don't discuss their partner often. Harrison Ford comes to mind for some reason.

Probably because he used to be married to a screenwriter.

But he's with Calista Flockhart now...

I think it's also that we only hear about relationships when they involve two celebrities, so it seems that all celebs are dating celebs, when really there are just as many that don't. I guess the thinking in the tabloids and mags is that a relationship between two famous people is much more interesting than one celebrity and their high school sweet-heart.

We're so fucused on Tomkat and Brangelina that relationships between celebrities and some unknown person are ignored and forgotten. So I don't believe that celebrities always date other celebrities. They get that chance because they are exposed to other celebrities, sure, but there are so many more relationships that we're not exposed to. We just don't realize it, cause they're not on our radar at all.

Probably because they are the people they tend to socialise with the most and understand what their life and job is like more than a 'nobody'.

There are still celebrities who are married or together and have made it work though. Tom Hanks, Antonio Banderas, Tim Robbins have all been with their partners a long time now.

Often they say that other celebs are the only ones who can truly understand them and their lives, etc. But considering how many of their marriages and relationships don't work out, maybe that's not the best thing to base a relationship on.

Maybe some celebs have such big egos that they would never think a non-celeb is good looking enough, or good enough, for them.

No, but Sharon worked for her father's Management team. Her first job was to save Ozzy.

Sharon was a mere 15 when she began her career, as a receptionist for her father Don Arden's management company. It was while working for her father that she first met seminal rockers Black Sabbath and a lead singer called John Michael Osbourne, already known to one and all as Ozzy.

Sharon was 17 then, and their paths crossed off and on over the ensuing years, until she began managing Ozzy's career in 1979,
She was no celebrity even if she wasn't still working as a receptionist when she first met him at 17.
