Any suggestions on a starting point for the uninitiated?

Their albums are spotty, so check out Best Of Blur, which I consider to be one of the very best compilations in recent memory. If you like it, check out Modern Life Is Rubbish, because there's only one song from it on the best of, and it really does sum up their sound very well.

I don't think Modern Life is Rubbish presents the full range of their sound as well as Parklife does. The latter is more seminal in their career.

The self-titled album is my favorite, and shows the band moving away from the signature Brit Pop sound (after the first song, at least). It's probably their most ambitious album. Song 2, which this thread was initially about, is on this album.

Just thought I'd pop in and remind everyone that Blur are better than Oasis.

That is all.

Wait 'til intedomine reads that. Just wait.

Blur and Oasis are so far apart that if I place 'Blur' here

Blur

you are now going to have to go waaaaaay back in the archives somewhere to find Oasis. Maybe that web wayback machine thing.

Lawl, mid-90s Britrock.....

Somehow still manages to beat Grunge, though.
