Who is the perfect band?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Why isn't Jimi Hendrix #1 on guitarists??

My perfect band would consist of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr.

Too bad that will never happen

...because Page was better. Page perfected what Hendrix started.

To borrow a quotation from Absolutely Fabulous:

The genius of Hendrix was that he could stand up at all he was pumped so full of drugs.

I'm surprised Plant made it as best singer, there are so many better than he. Don't get me wrong he's good, but he had a lot of weaknesses in his voice.

I know who my perfect band is :D -- but very few others would agree.

Perfection in a subjective medium is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder.

No Depeche Mode? :eyebrow: It's strange how underrated they are.

In my opinion, it would either be Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, or U2. ;)

Hard to argue this one:

Drums: Bonham (one of the best ever)
Guitar: Page (one of the best ever)
Bass: Jones (one of the best ever and great keys as well)
Vocals: Plant (great original voice and stage presence)

Hard to find another perfect band that have the best players in it.

I consider two bands to be almost perfect, but no band is perfect.

ABBA was an almost perfect band. Perfect songwriting, perfect, musicianship, and perfect singing. Their fashion until around 1980 was the only imperfect thing about them.

Electric Light Orchestra was an imperfect band until around 1975. From that time on, they reached perfection except for Jeff Lynne's afro.
