1024 X 768

I wonder what 1280 X 720 or 1280 X 1024 would look like, as they don't have the standard 4/3 width/height ratio.

they look scary.

i'm 1024x768 as well. i used to be 800x600, but my husband kept changing the resolution when he was on, and i told him to keep it one time so i could see what it looked like, and i like this better. on my old computer it used to be 640x480, because that's the highest the monitor would go! it looks scary on this monitor cuz i have some programs that run in that. i wonder, what's the smallest # a monitor can go?

640x480, because I have a HUGE monitor (10 times bigger than it should be -- I don't know the exact number of inches, but it's like 3 times the size of a normal TV) and anything else besides that doesn't fit and looks incredibly small. For my sites, I design for 800x600 screen resolutions, though.

My comp uses 1024x768...my parents is 800x600 (I had changed it to 1024x768, and they freaked out...*lol*).

This poll surprises me...I had figured the vast majority of people used 800x600.

shouldn't it be the other way around? i'm just wondering cuz i would imagine 640x480 on a huge monitor would be really huge and scary, i know on mine (17") the taskbar alone takes up almost 1/3 of the screen.

just curious :D

To get an idea of how big the monitor is, it is on its own desk about 2 feet away, and I have to use my keyboard and such on a seperate desk.

Yes, fear my monitor. I wasn't the one who chose to buy such a gigantic one -- and it is really annoying sometimes when it is so huge.

Because it's on it's own desk, I have to squint a little if I use 800x600, so I use 640x480 to make it easier on my eyes.

That's a monster!!

Do you use the monitor solely as the display unit of your computer? Or is that you TV display too??
